Chapter 2 - Page 79: A Flustered Mom |
kenisu - #79
I have to wonder what people thought of that "I knew somebody was in trouble" panel back in its Halloween days... since, of course, back then, I hadn't yet submitted the pages containing the subplot at the end of Chapter 1, where Ninten feels a sense of danger to someone not far off.

Wow... this Lauren character is pretty tactless, isn't she? Come to think of it, I guess in a roundabout way, it's almost a reflection of a certain other tactless "good news/bad news" scene from the MOTHER series.

Camel's back = BROKEN.
Looking over my original of this page from two/three years ago, I noticed something I had forgotten about. A faint erasure can be seen in the sky, in the panel where Marilyn is on the ground (you probably can't see it here, since this is photocopy, and a colored one at that). It's a speech balloon of Marilyn going "AcK... gAHhh..." and it's accompanied by the sound effect "twitch twitch". All I can say is: *wow*, I'm really glad I recognized the mood killer there when I did.

There's something about that river, and the trees beyond it, that make me wish I could live there.

Chapter 2 - Page 83: Resolve |

This was a pretty tricky business, trying to come up with lines that, to my ears, didn’t sound corny and overused, and at the same time making sure the gestures didn’t climb into “Milking the Giant Cow” territory. I’m still not even sure if this succeeded.
That’s a carnation on the Mothersday welcome sign, by the way.
