Chapter 1 - Page 42: A Hop, a Skip, and a Jump |
kenisu - #42
I guess there's such a thing as too much detail... these panels can be terribly distracting from what I
wanted in the central focus: Ninten jumping onto the mini-table to avoid the bed; the bed turning around
for another swoop; Ninten deciding to jump onto the bed; and the springs in the mattress bouncing him all
the way to the dresser and the doll. How very cartoony.
But anyway, WHOO! Back to college, and back to the good scanners!

Chapter 1 - Page 43: Kewpie Blows Chunks |

I knew I wanted the doll to change its facial expression (the one and only time it ever does) just before Ninten decked its lights out, but originally I was going to make it a despairing "uh-oh!" face. I then realized that that would be inconsistent with the story, and it would make more sense for it to give off a bemused, "heh!" face instead.
I'm sure you're all wondering what the heck I'm talking about, but anyone who's familiar with the fan theories surrounding the poltergeist phenomenon at Ninten's house should be able to figure it out.

Chapter 1 - Page 52: Somnus Awareness |
kenisu - #52
That last panel originally just had Ninten's mom saying "I realize now that YOU are the boy in my dream," but then as I went to draw over the sketch, I decided that I needed to be more subtle, and yet more thorough as well, so I changed it so that Mom only implies what's obvious to the reader and Ninten, and goes in depth instead on what led her to her realization.

Chapter 1 - Page 48: What Happened With Mimmie |
kenisu - #48
As you may be able to tell, in the first flashback panel, where Mimmie is looking at her door, I accidentally and absentmindedly gave her Minnie's color scheme... then realized what I had done, went "oh, snap" and erased the red as well I could, and replaced it with the purple scheme - though it's still very red-tinted.
Blasted twins.

Chapter 2 - Page 85: Ed the Corner Guy |
kenisu - #85
Ed's design comes from the rotund, red-clad NPC you meet just as you get into Mothersday, who says "Did a poltergeist visit your house? It tore mine apart."
