EarthBound, a life changing experiance
So I'm loafing around, looking for something to not do, when the urge to write something comes over me. Now this is a bit more of a problem then usual, as I've already wrote a letter for this week's mailbag, I don't want to give Hawian Shirts more than one comic to do at a time, if I start a fanfic I'll never finish it, and I'm really not much for poems or songs. This leaves one option, an article!
So I sit down at my computer, open Notepad, and think. And think. And grab a snack and munch while I think. So after a lot of thinking, a thought finely forms in my head: What pathetic level of nerdiness have I obtained? I just spent the last 30 minutes trying to think of something to write about an eight-year-old video game!
This got me to thinking about how incredible it is that this huge community has formed, all from a rejected SNES game that even was advertised with the slogan, "This game stinks". If you look around the forums you'll see friendships, hatreds, amazing projects, problems, jokes, and general good times that never would have taken place if not for this little game that touched our hearts with its unusual style. We all put so much time and effort into showing our love for this little game. Perhaps we're all a bunch of nerds and idiots, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't know what I'd be doing now if the EB community didn't exist, but I certantly wouldn't be writing this. Nor would I spend so much time online, or be the person I am today.
In ending, I'd like to say that this a very used article topic, and quite possibly may have been written the same way as this one, and definitely has been better written before, but I've satisfied my urge to write for the moment, and I have an article to show for it.
